For all you Jesus lovers out there - here's an important consideration.
Matthew 27:29; Mark 15:18; Luke 23:27 and John 19:3 all record how at His trial Jesus was mocked by the Roman soldiers who placed a purple robe upon His shoulders and exclaimed, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
It was also the practice to put the charges of the accused on a placard which was then carried by a Roman soldier in front of the accused all the way to the place of execution, and then nailed above them on the cross of crucifixion.
Now, those who nailed our King to that cross (the act of which we are all guilty), meant it to belittle and discredit Him.
I am made to wonder that while some may recognize intellectually that Jesus was a great Prophet and even say they believe He was the Christ but then deny Him conversationally (i.e. in our conduct ); are they not in some measure mocking Him in the same ways?
Just a thought.
"Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it." -- Matthew 7:13
I love you.
