Sir George Adam Smith explains Isaiah 8:14 regarding Christ's role as the Cornerstone of all our hopes and goals in life;
"Suppose a man to be fleeing in trouble and terror across a country, and suppose him to come to an altar of God. If he is a man who believes in God, and who loves God, and who trusts God, then that altar for him will be a sanctuary where he meets God and finds the Presence of God. But, if he is an unbeliever, who has neither use nor time for God, then the altar is simply a heap of stones over which he may stumble, and nothing better than a hindrance in his way. God is a precious possesion to those who love Him and a nuisance to those who have no use for Him." -excerpt from "Jesus As They Saw Him", William Barclay, Eerdmans 1962

Is Christ your sanctuary today where you find mercy, peace and safety? Or sadly, just a heap of stones in your way?
Jesus said, "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30 CSB

I love you
