John 6:27-28 NASB
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give them eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.
Without addressing the 'eternal security' question the Full Life Bible Commentary (John 10, pg. 67) makes this comment regarding Jesus's proclamation, "Life is that manner of existence that takes on the character of the one who gave it. In it there exists a wonderful dynamic relationship that is characterized as joy and peace." - end.
Something more than a 'claim' is involved in being a follower of the Good Shepherd. There is the issue of character.
Character is defined as 'the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.'
'Grace' is not a license or excuse for lack of godly character.
I am challenged each day in my endeavor to follow the Chief Shepherd to be a reflection of the character of Christ in all that I say and do.
We are in terribly dangerous and troubling times.
These times call for the 'manifestation of the sons (and daughters) of God' -(Romans 8:19).
For the sake of the confusions of these times we as God's children need to shine as such.
We can illuminate the darkness as we live to reflect the Light of Jesus our Savior and Redeemer!
Shine today!
Shine!
I love you
